Background
April 2009 I attended a wedding in Carmel. I was wearing a brand new dress and I thought I looked good but when I sat down the rolls on my stomach felt uncomfortable. The dress was tight and even though I hid it well the bungles were unsightly.
I have been “working out” for over 10 years and I never really paid much attention to food but that day at the wedding I decided to hire a personal trainer. I had no doubt who I would enlist as my trainer. I had seen Val Fujii working with friends of mine, I had seen him at the gym and I liked his style and approach.
Val accepted me with open arms and together we embarked on a journey that would change the way I approached food and exercise.
To my complete surprise the hardest part of this journey was the food. Val provided me with a nutritional guideline and menu plan but I either did not like the foods or felt they were too bland; I wanted my meals to be sustainable and incorporated into my lifestyle. So Val handled my exercise routine, told me what to do, when to do it and how to do and I took on the role as my own nutritionist.
I thought it would be easy – boy was I wrong – I thought it would be as easy as entering the meal guidelines on google and watching the recipes pop up on my screen. The lack of results meant I had to do all the leg work myself. It was a long arduous journey; I would figure out one meal plan then realize I had to get ready for the next meal. There were several times I wanted to give up and throw in the towel but then I started seeing the results so I knew I was doing something right. I kept plugging along when I thought “I need to share this” and the birth of easyportions.com
This blog is to provide you with what I did not have a quick and easy way to start on the road to health and nutrition.
Each meal is portioned to follow the 50% carbohydrates, 30% protein, 20% fat. Each meal is approx. between 350-400 calories.
I hope you are able to find what you need to help you fulfill your own health goals.
